2021 Microbial Pathogenesis in Alzheimer’s Disease Grant 

On Tuesday, June 15, applications  open for the 2021 Microbial Pathogenesis in Alzheimer’s Disease Grant, and we are excited to announce an increase in available grant awards!  With $1.7 million in total grants available, the IDSA Foundation is supporting novel research that investigates a possible link between an infectious agent or microbial community and Alzheimer’s disease. Learn more about how you can apply for the opportunity to receive research grants of up to $250,000 in funding.

Thank a Pandemic Hero 

Do you know someone who has worked tirelessly to address the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic? One Month Left to Apply: 2021 IDea Incubator 

There’s only one month left to apply for the IDSA Foundation’s 2021 IDea Incubator in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS. Learn more about the benefits of applying by reading our interview with 2020 IDea Incubator second-place finalists Farrukh Jafri, MD, and Taylor Freeman. Honoring the 2021 Women of ID 

The IDSA Foundation is proud to honor Adaora Adimora, MD, MPH, FIDSA, as a 2021 Women of ID honoree. Dr. Adimora is an experienced clinician and accomplished researcher who has spent her career studying the epidemiology of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections in historically marginalized populations across the country. Her work is key to addressing racial disparities in health care. We spoke with Dr. Adimora to learn more about her career in the field of HIV and those who inspired her along the way.

Free Virtual Alzheimer’s Symposium 
Register today for a free virtual Alzheimer’s Symposium hosted by Intracell Research Group. The symposium will showcase experts working in various fields of Alzheimer’s research, including infection, inflammation, mitochondria, oxidative stress, microbiome, olfactory dysfunction, infection biomarkers and neuroengineering. Attend the event on Tuesday, June 15, to network with peers across disciplines to support collaboration and innovation in this important area of research.
